ok so my husband started taxidermy last year, and he just finished a whitetail deer mount last night it was his maybe 12th or so and when we woke up this morning there was what looked like blood running down the wall where the mount was hung to dry?? this has never happened with any of his previous mounts. Can anyone guess as to what caused this and how to fix it?

I know a little bit about taxidermy work and the only assumption I can come up with is that the hide was not dried out long enough. A drying process has to occur which can take several weeks depending on the size of the hide. I would most definitely call a local taxidermist and ask if they have had that problem before and they may be able to help you.
